Composed of the kidneys, renal arteries and veins, ureters, the bladder and the urethra, this system is a main component in maintaining homeostasis in the body. A vital part of this process is achieved by filtering, cleansing and balancing blood plasma; this enters the kidneys (via the renal arteries), which in turn adjust the concentration of water, salt and acidity (osmosis) then eliminate unnecessary by-products via the bladder and urethra. In order to maintain this balance, i.e. osmotic pressure/blood pressure, appropriate hormones are produce by several glands directed via the brain and the kidneys.
Through the processes of massage, gentle internal pressure, focusing and directing the mind, Chi Gung promotes the clear passage of air and fluids throughout the entire body. This in turn ensures efficient operation of all organs, connective tubes and tissue.
